Disabled Refuge Systems

A disabled refuge is a relatively safe space/ area within a building or staircase for mobility impaired occupants to call for assistance and wait until help arrives; allowing emergency services to assist them safely exit the building. 

Lexicomm Emergency Voice Communications Systems (EVCS) are designed to fully comply with the requirements of BS 5839-9: 2021, for use as a fire telephone system (FT), disabled refuge system (DRS) or as a combined system when both fire telephones and disabled refuge call points are required.
